The daily routine inside a residential treatment center is centered around each person’s recovery. Clients residing at these facilities participate in a structured daily schedule that consists of individual and group therapy sessions, family therapy sessions if applicable, holistic therapies, medication management, and other evidence-based treatments provided by their clinical team.

- The recovery journey begins when someone reaches out to our admissions team and schedules an evaluation.
- Once a client arrives, our clinical staff will evaluate their substance abuse history, any co-occurring mental health conditions they may be struggling with, their support network, and anything else clinically necessary. The results of this evaluation help develop a customized treatment plan that meets each client’s unique needs.
- If it is determined that Forward Motion is the place for you, you will be welcomed into our program.
- Each client’s daily routine includes participation in various types of therapy — group therapy sessions via different modalities, family therapy sessions if necessary, medication management if necessary, and supportive care for nutritional support, sleep support, and overall wellness. Forward Motion Health uses a variety of different therapy types, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing (MI), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and trauma-informed care (TIC) — all paired with holistic therapies that support the entire person.
Early steps toward developing an individualized post-residential aftercare plan begin shortly after admission. As the client progresses, continued collaboration among the clinical team will help develop a tailored exit strategy from the residential program to help clients transition from residential treatment to another treatment center for partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), sober living, or even back home safely.

Usually, most residential programs operate for 30 days; however, many clients may benefit from longer stays of 60 or 90 days, especially if their substance use is chronic or severe, or if they suffer from co-occurring mental health issues. Forward Motion Health continues to assess each client’s progress and make adjustments to their treatment plan accordingly. There is no set amount of time — only what is best for the client.
